Education projects

There are numerous education projects implemented within Professional Knowledge Academy. Their aim is to introduce new fields of study and provide students with an opportunity to acquire practical qualifications by cooperating with enterprises and mastering key competencies required on the labour market. Education projects result in notable benefits for higher education institutions, namely: improving attractiveness of a university's offer, cooperating with employers, adapting the quality of education to labour market requirements. Moreover, education projects improve teaching potential by, inter alia: investing in training and research infrastructure, e.g. expanding laboratories, upgrading server rooms, etc.

Examples of education projects implemented by Syntea SA in cooperation with higher education institutions:

"Absolwent na miarę czasu" carried out by Lublin University of Technology in cooperation with Syntea SA from 01.01.2010 to 30.09.2012. The key objective of the initiative is adapting computer fields of study to the requirements of the Ministry of Education as well as including fields of study and courses created according to employers' needs into the higher education institution's offer. The project is grant-aided by the European Union within Submeasure 4.1.1. OP HRD, Strengthening and developing didactic potential of higher education institutions.

Project objectives:

  • Complementing the offer of higher education institution, i.e. opening new specialties at second-cycle studies.
  • Opening remote teaching platform as element improving teaching attractiveness and effectiveness.
  • Adapting curricula to labour market needs (workshops hosted by IT specialists, seminars given by outstanding experts from abroad, discussion panels with employers and teaching conferences).
  • Developing partnership with employers by organising placements and internships involving issues covered in final theses.
  • Cooperating with potential employers (access to commonly developed and gathered knowledge).
  • Virtual Campus, apart from the remote teaching platform, includes system of gathering experience acquired by teachers and higher education institutions as well as system of exchanging information between teachers and students.

Project receipients:

  • 180 students learning at new specialties within second-cycle studies on Computer Science.
  • 180 course participants, including e-learning courses.

Syntea SA key activities:

  • Cooperating with employers - organising and carrying out panel discussions with employers. Such meetings regard teaching at second-cycle full-time programmes at Computer Science (new specialties), educating students as well as carrying out placements and internships.
  • Conducting examinations and giving ECCC certificates
  • Conducting examinations and giving CISCO certificates
  • Conducting examinations and giving Microsoft certificates
  • Developing and conducting workshops for students. Topics covered at the workshops are closely related to the opened specialties.
  • Preparing and delivering a set of courses on using the 'Virtual Campus' opened within the project.”

"Przedsiębiorcza uczelnia" was a 5-year education project implemente by WSP TWP in Warsaw within Operational Programme Human Capital Development, Priority Axis IV. Higher education and science; Measure 4.1.; Submeasure 4.1.1, Strengthening and developing didactic potential of higher education institutions in partnership with Syntea SA in the years 2008-2013.

Project objectives

  • modernising and improving quality in education provided by higher education institutions
  • improving qualifcations acquired by students and external applicants who would like to develop their competencies on 21 free-of-charge fields of postgraduate studies at seven faculties at WSP TWP as well as free-of-charge various complementary courses.
  • awarding academic staff scholarships for conducting researches
  • delivering courses improving computer competencies, PRINCE 2 methodology management courses as well as courses in acquiring external funds for Uczelnik employees.
  • building e-learning platform which is a tool of supporting education remotely.
  • Equalizing chances of disabled persons by adapting infrastructure of higher education institutions to their needs as well as by organizing ECDL courses

Key actions taken by Syntea SA

In order to make higher education institutions' education offer more attractive and raise qualifications of students and applicants wanting to improve their competencies. The project offers free-of-charge postgraduate studies lasting two or three terms as well as courses providing their participants with opportunities to acquire competencies crucial on labour market.

"Przedsiębiorcza uczelnia" project was also a chance for academic and managerial staff employed in a higher education institution. Within the project, 35 academic employees received scholarships for conducting researches. Managerial staff of a higher education institution as well as administrative personnel got an opportunity to participate in courses developing computer competencies, PRINCE 2 methodology management courses as well as courses in acquiring external funds.

Success of this initiative will make education offer of higher education institutions more popular and it will contribute to strengthening such form of education. The project will also help disabled persons in improving access to education by adapting infrastructure of higher education institutions as well as learning stands to their needs. European Computer Driving Licence courses for disabled persons were delivered within the project.
